The trendy health phase of last decades seems to be well and truly behind us. Sure cold press juice, paleo diets and raw chocolate are getting some attention at the moment, but when burgers, hot dogs, cronuts, milkshakes and soft serve are all the rage, you know that society can’t be that attached to health as a trend. The recent flood of gourmet doughnut stores has further supported this.
Having opened just today, Damien Griffith’s new venture, Doughnut Time, is worth saving those precious calories for. These hand dipped, artisan creations are expected to feature bold and unique flavours mixed in with the traditionals. Think popcorn or nerds, alongside chocolate and cinnamon, all either with cream-filling or a crispy glaze. Expect some pretty excruciating queues for the next few weeks.
