Brewsvegas Highlights

Beer lovers rejoice; Brewsvegas is back in town! Here some highlights for the week.

All Week:

Hoo Ha Bar – Beerkary 


Hoo Ha Bar, 421 Tribune Street, South Brisbane

The Beerkary is back and this time, they’ve teamed up with Hoo Ha Bar. In addition to some sweet, baked and brewed concoctions, you can try a range of Mt. Tamborine’s best craft brews including Fortitude Brewing, Black Hops, Croft Brewing and Beard & Brau.

Malt, Cane and Jerk Match


Jahh Tiger, 1 Park Road, Milton

Taste Jahh Tiger’s locally brewed Gale Force Caribbean Lager or Batman and Bolt Caribbean Stout with jerk and rum.

Sunday March 22nd:

Shady Palms Beer Pong Tournament


Shady Palms, 427 Logan Road, Greenslope

The brewers will be taking on the public in this ultimate beer pong challenge. Held as of 1:30 in the beer garden, 4 Pines, Young Henry’s, Green Beacon and Shady Palms will all be competing as DJ Sheep provides some laid back background beats.

Statler and Waldorf Pony Ride T-Shirt Launch


25 Caxton Street, Brisbane

This is second time Statler and Waldorf have released a limited edition Brewsvegas t-shirt, and if last year is anything to go by, they won’t last long. Secure your t-shirt by attending this event, and, if you wear last year’s top, you’ll also get a bonus pony.

Tippler’s Tap Smoken’ Swine


Tippler’s Tap, 22 Masters Street, Newstead

It’s all about the smoke! Two pigs on a spit worth, along with a host of smokey beers on tap, including a smokey rye ale brewed by the Tippler’s Tap team themselves. Can you think of a better Sunday session?

Monday March 23rd:

Black and Tan with Newstead Brewing


The Charming Squire, 133 Grey Street, South Brisbane

Hold the press! For the first time ever, James Squire are collaborating with ANOTHER BREWERY! Newstead Brewing co. are the lucky lads who will be teaming up with the proven Australian brewers in order to offer you a batch brewed by the Black and Tan method. The method involves brewing two beers; a dark and a pale with the aim for them to compliment one another, before being mixed together for drinking.

Tuesday March 24th:

Who Brewed It? Murder Mystery Night


The Embassy, 214 Elizabeth Street Brisbane

Mix six different beers, loads of canapes and a bit of mystery! Was it the brewer? The barman? Perhaps the regular?

White Lies and Video Tape


Brewski, 22 Caxton Street, Brisbane

One of Queensland’s most promising up and coming breweries, Whietlies will be launching their nut brown ale which will be on offer along with their classics; chocolate stout, IPA and amber ale. To celebrate, they will be showing the 90s classic; True Lies.

Beer Cocktail Competition


Super What Not, 48 Burnett Lane, Brisbane

Fortitude Brewing and Noisy  Minor team up with Brisbane’s best bartenders to create beer based cocktails.

Wednesday March 25th:

Beasts and Yeasts


Tomahawk Bar, 182 Grey Street, South Brisbane

Grab a board of five meats and a paddle of five beers for only $35. Each meat will be from a different animal and cooked in a different way.

Craft Beer Trivia Night


The Embassy, 214 Elizabeth Street, Brisbane

Hosted by Green Beacon Brewing, this trivia night gives you the “hopportunity” to show off your craft beer smarts with a large kitty prize.

Thursday March 26th:

Brewsin’ Karaoke


Crowbar, 243 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley

Mix metal karaoke with craft beer and things could get interesting…

Scribble Slam


Kerbside, 766 Anne Street, Fortitude Valley

Stone and Wood and Scribble Slam join forces to create this epic art battle between some of Brisbane’s finest artists. The theme is announced just before the start so that no plans can be made in advanced. In addition, there will be live music and Stone and Wood on tap,

Friday March 27th:

Prancing Pony Express


Fringe Bar, Constance Street, Fortitude Valley

South Australian brewers, Prancing Pony will be taking over the taps with their hoppy red Indian ale along with a selection of others brews.

Brews Bowls and Hoops on the Green


The Boo, 126 Breakfast Creek Road, Newstead

Six local and interstate brewers will be on site for this afternoon of barefoot bowling and two-on-two basketball. Relaxed tunes will carry you into the night until the party really gets started.

Cooking with Beer, Oh Yeah!


The Mill On Constance, 111 Constance Street, Fortitude Valley

The guys behind Goat Pie Guy will be teaming up with Mountain Goat Beer to provide a hands on cooking class that will teach you how to make the most of beer in cooking.

Saturday March 28th:

Ferment Two


Craft Wine Store, 196 Musgrave Road, Red Hill

Join Costas Nikias from La Sirene Brewing as he directs a beer tasting and teaches you about Saison beers. Calibre Craft Beers and Fino Foods will also be in the mix, providing you with gourmet cheese and cured meats for tasting.

Little Creatures Carnival


The Motor Room, Corner Boundary and Mollison Streets, West End

The Little Creatures Carnival is coming to the Motor Room, offering circus acts and other surprises on the day.

One Handed Combat


MacArthur Avenue Central, Hamilton

Eat Street Markets and Burleigh Brewing join forces to put on this one handed series of competitions. Complete a range of tasks whilst holding your beer in one hand.

Sunday March 29th:

Moo Brew Art Competition


BOSC, 69 Vulture Street, West End

Tasmanians, Moo Brew will be judging an art competition held by BOSC, with Moo Brew flowing on tap up until the winner is announced at 5pm.
